According to this article D-A-D will release their latest album in USA and UK in 2013. It also says that the band will do a lot of touring next year, so maybe some US gigs? It is highly possible that there won't be any gigs in Denmark next year (except the one in Aalborg)

Oh man, this is just so exciting! Smiley-midget I really wish them the best of luck out in the big World.

I think that's really, really, really great news for the guys! Just the fact that they might play places they haven't played in a long time!
Since the awesome UK gig in "Underground", London was sold out, I think there might be a great chances for the album to well too Smiley-laugh

Fingers crossed! Also for those of you out in the big wide world hoping to go to a D-A-D gig in your Country! Smiley

I get so excited about this I've actually cried lol. I'm in Canada and I'm not going to hold my breath that they'll come here because that would be too good to be true, but I've already told my boss I'm not going to use my last 4 days of vacation until I know more about the U.S. tour. I've been dreaming of this for over 20 years!!!

If they play SXSW in 2013, I'll be there. I'm only 3 hours away from Austin.....

Oh holy crap. I'm about a 5 hour flight from Austin, but I'd be there in a HEARTBEAT. I was lucky enough to see them on the No Fuel tour in a small club in Germany, and I'm dying to see them again. Fingers crossed.

Interesting that they are wedging in an appearance at the Texas Rock Fest in March between shows in England and France. Doesn't give much time for any extensive touring of the US. But one would think if they are coming this far to do a half hour set on a Thursday in Texas that they would book a few other gigs in the States. With the Texas show less than two months away, though, strange that no word of other shows have come up yet. Unfortunately a Thursday in Texas will not work for this guy all the way in New York City.

There's a large gap in their tour dates from April through July. I'd love to see them back in the states and touring then - maybe make an appearance at the big M3 Rock Fest in MAryland (where my band will be playing). The lineup for that event will be announced this Tuesday morning so we will know by then.

My brother and I traveled 5000 miles to see them in Denmark. Thinking about going to Austin. A full on D-A-D only US show would probably be better though

Well, the gig in England is at the beginning of March, and the gig in France is at the end of March, so they have all that time in between to possibly play more than one show on US soil. Smiley-midget

Hey! How many people would come to see two consecutive weekend D-A-D headlining shows in New York in March? I think it is going to happen!

@rumbledog - Same weekend and at the same venue? I would. My wife and I are going to fly out for the show in Amityville, then work our way back west to catch the Austin show. So two headlining shows in NY would be awesome.

Maybe coming from Detroit. All depends on work-schedule.

It's on, folks! I am proud to have helped set this up. D-A-D will play two shows in New York. My band, Streetlight Circus, will have the honor of opening both shows. The first is on Saturday, March 9th at Revolution in Amityville (www.revolutionli.com). You can get discounted advance tickets through me at http://www.streetlightcircus.com/events.html

The second is at The Studio at Webster Hall on Sunday March 10th in Manhattan. You can get tickets here: www.websterhall.com

CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE NET PETS WHO TRAVEL TO THE BIG APPLE FOR THESE SHOWS!

Hey, man...Just got my Amityville tickets through you. Webster Hall tix go on sale Saturday, FYI. I'll check out your band's site tonight.

By the way...what's the best way to get from Manahttan out to Amityville? Long Island RR? Does it go back to Manhattan late at night?

Got your ticket order and they are in the envelope and stamped and ready to go. Thanks, man!

There is a LIRR train that runs from Penn Station to Amityvillle. It's about an hour or so ride on the train. The trains do run all night long. I looked, for example, at the schedule for this Saturday night into Sunday AM and returning to the city there are trains at midnight, 1 am and 1:35 but then not again until 4 something in the morning.

Not sure exactly where the Amityville Station is but I don't think it's right near the club which means you may have to take a local cab from the station over to the venue. Most LIRR stations on Long Island have cab stands. I can look into it for you (or you might be able to yourself). Just looked - there IS a cab stand at the Amityville station. Their numbers appear to be 631-842-1111 or 631-842-1217

If I can be of any other help, feel free to reach out to me at Streetlightcircus@gmail.com. Those emails come right to me.

Glad you're making the trek. I cannot tell you how excited I am to be involved in bringing them to New York.

Dave

Rumbledog is correct, D-A-D is playing one of the two outdoor stages at the intersection of 7th & Neches. The final line-ups have not been posted yet, so we don't know which stage they will be on, or when they will be playing.
Hopefully, in the next couple of weeks we will get a clearer picture...
...I'll keep you posted - as soon as I know, I'll pass on the information. Smiley-midget

*Update - I just learned that the line-up with set times is supposed to be released on 2/14.

Ok - schedule is finally posted for the Heart of Texas Rockfest. D-A-D is playing an hour-long set starting at midnight, which is technically Friday March 15th, although D-A-D is really playing the end of the schedule for Thursday March 14th.
CAN'T WAIT!!!

California dates announced - I'm proud to say I had a hand in these dates! I might have to try to fly out there - the New York shows may not be enough.
March 19 - Whisky A GoGo (Hollywood) - D-A-D on the Sunset Strip
March 20 - Golden Sails Hotel, PCH Club (Long Beach)

I have a ticket for the Whiskey show! Will most likely go to the Long Beach show too. I saw DAD play at the Palace in Hollywood in 1989...... Very long time ago! So happy to see them again!

I feel for you Midwesterners. I grew up in the Chicago area, so I'd love y'all to get a show there.
My thinking is this, though: now that the California dates are set, I don't know if the band will have time to add another show before having to get back to Europe for shows there. Smiley-grr

Here's hoping they can do it!

Hi guys. Don't know why I didn't think to check in at the NetPets forum regarding the shows at the Whisky and Golden Sails this week. I'm so excited I'm just bursting. Judi, I was also. At that show at the Palace (I'd thought it was 1990, but time blurs).

Who's going to both? Any out of towners?

Fran. (First post to forums, apologies for any netiquette violations)
